We hear about people having problems with their PIP (personal independence payment) on an almost daily basis. PIP reviews going wrong; people losing payments they need; delays in payments; incorrect award decisions. Scott-Moncrieff’s specialist solicitor, Prakash Ruparelia, is working with people to ensure they receive the correct payments.
“With over one and a half million people having their PIP claims reviewed we are seeing an awful lot of clients who have had their payments slashed or even cut altogether, often because of a mistake or misunderstanding in the system,” says Prakash.
“Many thousands could be owed money because some assessments are thought to have been discriminatory.
“At Scott-Moncrieff we act for people who wish to appeal against wrong or discriminatory decisions. We have the expertise and commitment to work hard to get decisions overturned. I am proud to say we have had some major successes.”
One of the key areas of concern is where claimants are eligible for a bigger disability benefit payment if they cannot make a familiar journey by themselves. People with mental health conditions who are unable to make such a journey should also be eligible.
